Study visits are an interactive and dynamic on-site form of learning that takes place in cooperation with companies operating in the domestic market. Lectures as part of study visits are held at locations outside the higher education institution, mentors are always responsible persons within the host company, and this form of learning aims to simulate real business situations in which students will find themselves after graduating or already during a work placement.

Study visits are organised for first year students of the Communication Management undergraduate professional study programme and serve as a kind of preparation of students for regular, obligatory work placements. At each study visit, students actively take notes, read radio news on the air, put themselves in the role of television presenters, write news stories, prepare the headlines and layouts for the front pages of newspapers, participate in the development of assignments and case studies under the mentorship of leading Croatian journalists and editors in media editorial boards of all kinds and of professionals in public relations and marketing agencies. At the end of the visits, they complete the Work Placement Certificate. The purpose of this learning model is to familiarise students with the basic elements of how partner institutions work and function before become themselves involved in the market.

First-year undergraduate students participate in six study visits each academic year. Visits are organised in media companies, public relations agencies, marketing agencies, digital agencies, event agencies, corporations and other organisations whose field of activities cover public relations and communications management, marketing and sales, media or journalism, lobbying, internal communications or human resources and management processes.

So far, Bernays students have visited: RTL, Novu TV, N1, Jutarnji list, Večernji list, Lider, Dukat, Zagrebačku burzu, Media Val, Antenu Zagreb, Enter Zagreb, Narodni radio, Extra FM,  Media Servis, Gold FM and many others.
