Bernays u zajednici

Bernays in the community

Bernays as a university of applied science that strives for excellence in all areas of its study programmes is aware of its social role and responsibility towards society’s underprivileged and vulnerable groups. Join us and participate in the development of new socially responsible programmes!
Bernays operates according to the principle of social role development, which it uses to actively contribute to the professional, scientific and social development of the environment in which it is located.

Although Bernays as a university of applied sciences is focused on professional study programmes and areas that are oriented towards the practical education of students, Bernays also actively participates in the promotion of research activities. By encouraging our social role, we strengthen the environment in which we operate and continuously encourage the participation of all employees, students and partners in socially responsible activities.

Projects we are proud of

BRom program

Since the 2020/2021 academic year, Bernays implements a programme of educational support for members of the Roma community called BRoma in partnership with the Kali Sara Association of Roma in the Republic of Croatia. This programme greatly contributes to the education of members of the Roma community, as an underrepresented and vulnerable group. The programme includes free tuition for study programmes at Bernays for a period of five years, for six students, members of the Roma community – a value of 60,000 EUR. Participate too!

BeReady2Return

Since 2021 Bernays has been encouraging members of the Croatian diaspora to return to their homeland by awarding free tuition for graduate study programmes through the BeReady2Return project. In addition to encouraging their return to their homeland and providing them with the opportunity to obtain a university education, Bernays in this manner provides the foundations for their stay in the homeland. Thus far, three students have returned to Croatia from Chile, the USA and Tanzania, continuing their education in Croatia. You can participate too!

Helping students from earthquake affected areas

In Croatia, Petrinja, Sisak and the surrounding areas were hit by major earthquakes in 2021. In addition to major damage to the infrastructure, unfortunately, human lives were also lost. The homes of several Bernays students did not withstand the earthquake, and as a result, their financial situation, as well as that of their parents, became much more challenging. On that occasion, Bernays wrote off the tuition fees of students whose homes were damaged, in that manner providing its small contribution to the recovery.

Holidays at Bernays

By actively participating in lectures and interactive workshops, participants collect points and compete for the main prize – free tuition for one of Bernays' study programmes. You can participate too!
